I was so happy to be Amanda and Craig’s wedding photographer, because my favourite weddings are the ones where my old friends get married. It makes me happy that I not only get to watch them walk up the aisle to meet the person they want to share their life with, but I also get to capture all of the moments of the day on which their dreams come true.
I have known Amanda since high school. I won’t quantify that for you, but I will tell you, that it’s been a while! I am so happy to see her so happy with Craig, and now baby Jack (who is getting to be big boy Jack in a hurry). It was a great day photographing their Admirals Green Wedding.
We started out the day at Amanda and Craig’s, where it didn’t take long to realize that Craig is a firefighter. It was perfect that there were so many little details in their home that I could work into the story of their day! We both grew up in Clarenville and it was really nice to see the way that even though she was having a St. John’s wedding, she worked really hard to use as many hometown vendors as possible. Alison from The Grapevine did an absolutely amazing job with all of thew wedding flowers. Her work is always outstanding and well worth any extra effort it might have taken to get them!
The girls spent the morning getting ready at Signature Salon. While they were there, Tracy and I had loads of time to work with the details! It worked out perfectly because by the time Amanda and bridesmaids got back to the house, we had all the of the pretty details taken care of, and could focus on them getting ready! Of course, getting dresses on started with a little toast with some bubbly!
This is Jack, Craig and Amanda’s gorgeous son! He was in fine form all day because he took a solid nap until things started to get real! He was very taken up with all the pretty ladies who had descended on the house while he was sleeping!
Amanda is one of the most expressive brides I have ever worked with! There was no disguising how excited she was!
With the girls all ready, Tracy and I headed over to Admiral’s Green to meet up with Craig who was spending a few quiet moments with Jack before the wedding got underway!
And then it was really time!
When I asked Amanda what her favourite parts of the wedding were, she said getting ready with the girls, seeing Craig for the first time, and Jack clapping his hands while he watched! I agree! It was absolutely adorable!
First family photo!!!
When family photos were done, the wedding party hopped on the limo bus and headed toward the Fire Hall for some wedding photos of this Fireman and his bride!
Then we took a little photo tour of all of the most popular St. John’s wedding photo locations! We started at Quidi Vidi and then made our way up to Cuckolds Cove!
And then when it was completely dark and totally freezing, we made one more stop before heading back to Admiral’s Green!
I love this silhouette so much!
It is hard to say that Pam Picco Creations outdid herself, because her cakes are incredible, but I really think she might have on this one!
Amanda and Craig, thank you so much for choosing me to be your wedding photographer. I loved spending every minute of your wedding day with you and I wish you all the happiness in the world in the future!
Much Love,
Amy
