Boudoir at night always adds a little more of a sultry and dramatic element. I was thrilled when Holly came to see us for her downtown St. John’s Boudoir session and the ambient light spilling in from Water Street have us just enough light! This is one of my favorite moody nighttime Boudoir sessions ever!
When a client asks me what to wear to her Boudoir photo session, I always suggest something they feel good in. That doesn’t need to be fancy lingerie. It doesn’t need to be bras and panties. For Holly, it was this gorgeous Michael Kors blazer she felt good – so in turn – she looked amazing!
Moving away from the window, but still in love with the ambient light available in that hotel room, I decided to push my camera’s limits and not use any of the flashes or strobes I bring to sessions. We worked with what was already in the room and just outside. I am so glad we did! Sometimes as a photographer, it’s easy to know what is ‘technically’ right and just do it – but sometimes, it’s fun to experiment and try new things when a client is ready and willing to humor your imagination!
Much Love,
Amy
