Nancy’s Weight Loss Boudoir Session
About 6 years ago, I started a very long, very twisty, not terribly successful weight loss journey.
As I was losing weight, and then gaining it back again, I met the most amazing women. Strong, funny, supportive, caring, women, who were all on journeys of their own. I am happy that every Thursday, I know that when I walk into my meeting room, I am walking into a room full of strong amazing women who get me. Who laugh at my ridiculous antics. Who clap and cheer for each other without judgement.
In my very first meeting, so, so long ago, I met Nancy.
Nancy became a sweet, supportive friend and we spent lots of time together. I adored having her in my circle. But she experienced a health set back and I gave up on my weight loss efforts and we eventually drifted apart.
Not long ago, we ran into each other again in a chance meeting.
Catching up with her, I realized that the last few years have been very eventful for her. Having lost several close family members and battled thyroid cancer, she also found herself back in a place where she needed to started over. She is back on track with life again now.
Nancy’s spirit shines with her hard work and determination. After deciding that a Boudoir session was just what she needed, we went on a shopping expedition for lingerie at La Vie en Rose and then we celebrated her achievements with a weight loss boudoir session.
Here is Nancy’s story:
“At the age of 38 I was diagnosed with cancer. I have spent the past 4+ years struggling with my health, as well as losing my mother and father in law to cancer with in the following year. I pulled away from everyone. I didn’t have strength nor energy for more then Doctors appointments, my husband and my children’s needs. (Who am I kidding? I barely got through)
This past October I finally started feeling myself again and saw my self in front of another large weight gain. I originally lost 90+ lbs before my diaganosis. I gained back 55 during my lengthy illness.
When I bumped into my dear friend Amy at Starbucks, I immediately realized how much I has missed having her in my life. Amy is good for my soul as so many of you know! Caring, charismatic, beautiful , talented Amy.
Amy brought up the boudoir and I said I’m in! Let’s do it! But wait until I lose more weight. ( I wasn’t quite half way lol)
But true to Amy, she was having no part of it! And she’s right! What was I waiting for? Life is too short!
We went shopping for fancy pants and oh the fun we had! And the day before my 42nd birthday I packed my fancy pants and went for the experience of a lifetime.
My body has been through three pregnancies, two major weight losses , cancer and years of ongoing chronic pain.
I did boudoir for me, to celebrate me.
It was so liberating! I felt beautiful in my own skin. I was comfortable and had so much fun! I am a warrior, my body is mine and I embrace it fully. I’m far from perfect, and I am still fighting the big C with all I have! Amy showed me through her lense what my brain was having trouble seeing. I can’t stop looking at the photographs!
Amy, thanks so much for being you, and thank goodness for things that are meant to be. Your friendship and huge heart are what I needed! Want to go again?? I’m there!
Much love,
Nancy
P.S As of this morning, 51 of those 55 pounds I gained back are gone! Woohoo! Never ever give up beauties, fight with all your warrior strength!
P.P.S
Cancer can kiss my ass!”
Nancy, I am so glad we both happened to be at that Starbucks that day and I am so happy you are back in my life. Congratulations on your amazing accomplishments! You should be beyond proud of not just your weight loss but how truly wonderful you really are!
Much Love,
Amy
