Vanessa’s Late Night Hotel Boudoir Session in St. John’s, Newfoundland

The Boudoir Experience 
Each boudoir experience is different. It depends on the woman, her outfits, her motivation for doing the session, her mindset. It also depends on the setting.

As practical as a fixed studio would be, I love working out of unique locations and changing things up constantly to give everyone a unique boudoir experience. Each set of  photos have a different look, depending on the location and the time of day the session takes place! During the day, I prefer to shoot completely with natural light, using it to fill in lines and shadows for a softer look. But in the night time, that’s when the lights come out to play and things get a whole lot more dramatic! Vanessa’s Boudoir session took place in my favourite boutique hotel in downtown St. John’s. She absolutely rocked her session and I am delighted she was open to sharing some online!
Initially when Vanessa contacted me about a session, she had this to say! Reading her message, I knew she was doing her session for ALL the right reasons.

“Boudoir is something I’ve wanted to do for some time now but as a bigger woman I was always little self conscious of my body and others seeing. However, since I became a mom to a beautiful little girl I’ve learned to love my body so I can teach her that no matter what size you are, we are all beautiful strong woman! And to love her body no matter what anyone else thinks! I want her to grow up knowing that as long as she is healthy it doesn’t matter if she is a size 2 or a size 22. I’ve truly been blessed with a great husband who loves me for me and he’s helped me get to where I am today! A boudoir shoot would be amazing gift for the both of us!”

Absolutely, all the right reasons!
After her session, Vanessa had this to say about her boudoir experience!

“Doing a boudoir shoot has been one of the most empowering experiences of my life! I was a little anxious and nervous at first but you and April made it such a relaxing and enjoyable experience! I’ve always been full figured and not always loved myself as I was. However since having my little girl I’ve been working to get to a place where I have chosen to love my body as is and to teach her to love herself. When I got my prints back it was that little extra for me to be able to look at myself as the curvy sexy woman that I am! I can’t thank you enough for helping me finally come to happy place with my body!”
